See All ReviewsBest restaurant near base! We tried all 3 kinds of chicken, each was delicious, the jerk chicken was our favorite. Kids loved the Mac n' cheese, rice and beans were phenomenal with the curry sauce on them. Servers were very friendly. Relaxed and quick!
Really great food and friendly service. True Jamaican cuisine. I worked in Jamaica and the food at Sweet Pepper is the real thing. We were there for dinner but they were out of Jerked chicken. They apparently are very popular for lunch. The Spicy Jerk Salmon was outstanding (mildly spicy hot) amd the favorite among our group of four. The oxtails (amazing tender roast beef in a terrific brown gravy) are my close second choice. The sweet chill shrimp was excellent and not overly spicy. Although goat is not common the curry goat is very good and again not spicy hot but very flavorful. The Jamaican fruit drinks are imported from Jamaica and true to that culture - not nearly as sweet as American drinks with some very different flavors. The drinks were not a favorite in my group. Service was great and we were treated to a wonderfull meal. Be aware - this is fantastic food but not a fancy resturaunt, takeout plates and plastic tableware were well worth it for the great experience.
Stopped for lunch. Fabulous food and service. We got lunch specials. I tried the jerk chicken and my wife got the curry chicken. You get to pick two sides for each meal. We got the rice with beans, Rasta pasta, collard greens, and regular rice. Everything was delicious. Very friendly. We will be going back soon!!
